On their fourth disc, Lawrence KA's Kill Creek deliver a haunting record that, depending on your point of view, is either a rock-tinged emo disc or an emo-tinged rock record. Either way, it contains enough elements of both kinds of music to satisfy the most discerning tastes. Sounding like a moody Weezer, or a depressed Superchunk, the band has a knack for making downbeat sound surprisingly upbeat. This disc is more laid-back than previous offerings, but is no less powerful. If it wasn't for the fact the disc is barely 30 minutes, it would be epic.
