King Britt

Late Night with King Britt

BY Sergio ElmirPublished Oct 1, 2005

The king of beat junkies and musical journeymen, King Britt, takes the second instalment in the Late Night series to the space-age with a soulful mix of deep, sensual house from Britt’s own vaults. As a remixer, Britt has worked his skills alongside artists like Macy Gray, Yoko Ono, Femi Kuti, Curtis Mayfield, the O’Jays and Destiny’s Child. On this collection, Britt highlights remixes and artists from his own Fivesixrecordings roster alongside remixes done for Plant Life, Charmade Beat and Britt’s own Scuba project, creating a seamless mix full of rich atmospheric tracks that highlight soulful vocals, snapping beats and down-tempo grooves. Check out Martino’s funky "Do What Feels Right,” the tribal soul of Wahoo’s "Holding You,” the sly tropical flavour of "Latin High” by DJ Doiza and the atmospheric "Dream #3” from the Nova Dream Sequence. King Britt has been able to flex his musical muscle as a DJ, producer, solo artist, remixer and global musical impresario, but now he slows things down in his ultra-busy life to create a beautiful collection of slow jams for the modern music fan. Richly textured and deeply melodic, King Britt’s Late Night is a sly journey through sounds that can play in the club, lounge or bedroom.
