Kings of Leon

"Pyro" (video)

The kind of bar they show in Southern rockers Kings of Leon's new video for "Pyro" might not actually exist in real life, which isn't a bad thing. It's too perfectly flawed. There's a dying man in a wheelchair, a lonely, demoralized stripper, a chicken hawk and a whole lot of drunken losers. Oh, and Kings of Leon are playing off in the corner.

Things get heated when the video's hero gets worked over by the locals after he sticks up for a woman being harassed. Just as the roughnecks break out the baseball bat, though, dude's wounds start healing magically and he starts floating in the air. So do all the other "good" people in the video.

So maybe the bar is like purgatory and all the good 'uns are floating off to heaven? Or maybe they're in space? Let's go with space, considering the giant star the hero hovers towards as the clip fades to black.

"Pyro" is on Kings of Leon's latest album, Come Around Sundown, which is out now on RCA.
