Kings of Leon Cancel Entire U.S. Tour, Keep Canadian Dates in Tact

Earlier this year, Southern-fried rockers Kings of Leon added to their busy touring schedule with another batch of dates through the U.S. and Canada. Following an onstage meltdown from frontman Caleb Followill, however, the band have cancelled the entire U.S. portion of the trip.

From the sounds of it, Followill used heat exhaustion as his excuse for ditching the stage at an appearance in Dallas, TX on Friday (July 29). "For the record, I'm not drunk," he told the fans, as seen in the below video via the L.A. Times. "I'm just ... hot ... I'm about to fall down over here because I'm so daggum hot." He promptly left the stage, telling fans he would "vomit," enjoy a beer and come back to finish the set.

Followill never returned and the remaining band members were left on stage to deal with a stadium of disappointed bands. From there, things got worse as the band cancelled the remainder of their North American tour.

The announcement came via the following statement from the band:

We are so sorry to say Kings of Leon are canceling their entire U.S. tour due to Caleb Followill suffering from vocal issues and exhaustion. The band are devastated, but in order to give their fans the shows they deserve, they need to take this break. Unfortunately, the U.S. dates cannot be rescheduled due to the band's international tour schedule.

Caleb's brother and bandmate Jared Followill admitted via Twitter that the problems run much deeper than exhaustion, cryptically tweeting, "I love our fans so much. I know you guys aren't stupid. I can't lie. There are problems in our band bigger than not drinking enough Gatorade."

With all the U.S. shows axed, the tour is set to resume in Vancouver on September 14. All dates are available below.
