Earlier this year, Knxwledge impressed the masses with the twitchy, soul-slathered beat to Kendrick Lamar's To Pimp a Butterfly track "Momma," and now the L.A. producer is getting the chance to flex his skills further on a new solo LP. Stones Throw delivers his Hud Dreems as a digital release on May 5, with a double LP to follow on June 30.
A press release for the soundscaper notes that while he has amassed an insanely prolific back catalogue of mixes and beat tapes over Bandcamp, having worked with rappers like Lamar and Joey Bada$$ along the way, Hud Dreems acts as his official full-length debut. The 26-song instrumental LP is said to put forth a "pastiche of soul, jazz and hip-hop that melts together in a style uniquely his own."
The forthcoming vinyl release will feature even more material, with an as-yet-unclear number of tracks being presented on the fourth side of vinyl. The album art, which you can see up above, will be pressed IRL on a "day-glow" gatefold cover. You can pre-order the set here and check out new tune "Jstowee" beneath the tracklisting.
Hud Dreems apparently won't be the only new music from Knxwledge coming out through Stones Throw this year. The producer has been working with Mndsgn and with Anderson Paak for an R&B and hip-hop-flavoured project called R&B/hip-hop collaboration Nxworries, and a full-length is expected later this year. They've already delivered a single called "Suede," which you'll find at the bottom of the page.
