Kreator Discuss New Album

SPV Records has announced that German thrash metal stalwarts Kreator will finally follow up 2003's Enemy Of God with their 12th studio effort dubbed Hordes Of Chaos.

Set for release on January 13, 2009, the ten-track affair boasts a bonus DVD featuring a documentary about the making of the album, video for the title track and live cuts "Coma Of Souls" and "Awakening Of The Gods" taken from the Summer Breeze Festival of 2006.

In typical fashion, singer/guitarist Mille Petrozza asserts that his lyrics focus on political hypocrisy and inhumanity. "The global political situation has come apart at the seams. [The album] is a warning to the coming generation. Everybody has to go their own path in life and should try not to buy into the propaganda lies that governments feed us," he relates in the band's official release statement.

In an effort to capture Kreator's live essence, Hordes Of Chaos was committed to tape at Berlin's Tritonus studios utilizing a subtle mix of off-the-floor and multi-tracking, a method the band have not utilized since 1986's Pleasure To Kill. Petrozza explains that the technique brings Kreator back to their essence.

"The new album is a 100 percent realistic reflection of Kreator's live qualities. Instead of exploring every little detail to sterile perfection with the help of computer technology, this time around we wanted to deliver as dynamic a production as possible. There can be no doubt that we've achieved our target in Hordes Of Chaos."

At present time, the six-week Hordes Of Chaos North American Tour is slated to start in early April with Exodus, Belphegor, Warbringer and Epicurean in tow.
