Ladyhawk

After numerous tours with the likes of Magnolia Electric Co. and their homies in Black Mountain, along with the mushroom-fuelled EP Fight For Anarchy, Ladyhawk have grown exponentially since their self-titled debut. This growth is documented well on Shots, their second proper full-length. Opener "I Don’t Always Know What You’re Saying” kicks things off with ragged guitars and a dreamy synth, while "S.T.H.D.” keeps up the momentum with its upbeat verses and loud chorus. Elsewhere, "Faces of Death” slowly builds to a cathartic jam, while closer "Ghost Blues” is drawn out for ten minutes. Offering a darker, more mature version of their earlier work, Shots is the record Ladyhawk have always intended to make.
