Lana Del Rey appears to be going method with her country pivot, since she just debuted a song with a verse about kissing Morgan Wallen.

On Friday (April 25), the singer performed at Indio, CA's country-focused Stagecoach Festival. There, she debuted a new song called "57.5," which features a chorus lyric about having "57.5 million listeners on Spotify." (As of this writing, she is just shy of 62 million monthly listeners on the platform.)

Late in the song, she said, "This is the last time I'm ever gonna say this line." She then delivered a sing-speak verse with the following lyrics: "I kissed Morgan Wallen / I guess kissing me kind of went to his head / If you want my secret to success / I suggest don't go ATVing with him when you're out West / Look at me." Noted! I'll be sure to avoid doing that.

Check out a recording of "57.5" below. It's not great! It includes an outro where Del Rey repeats the word "Lasso" — the initial reported title of her country album.

Also below, check out Lana's new songs "Quiet in the south" and "Husband of mine," the latter evidently being about that crocodile tour guide she married.

Del Rey had been planning on releasing her album The right person will stay on May 21, but she has apparently changed both the title and release date.
