The organizers behind Newfoundland's Lawnya Vawnya were forced to postpone their 10th edition earlier this year due to the coronavirus pandemic, but the show must go on, and the fest will return from September 30 to October 3.

While it's not possible to pack a large number of people into cramped venues, the St. John's fest will include a hybrid of virtual and real-life performances.

On the virtual end, we can look forward to online performances from headliners Elisapie, Cartel Madras and Priors, as well as Alpen Glow, Regina Gently, Kat McLevey and Meg Warren.

There will also be limited-capacity real-life shows from the likes of Ariel Sharratt and Mathias Kom of the Burning Hell, as well as Birch Beer, Isolation Kills, Conditioner, Sooks, Soap Opera, Hullo, Nico Paulo, Valmy, Kyle Gryphon and LB Power.

The festival will also include panel discussions, artist talks, a film screening, readings, a record and press fair, pop-up shows and a new "music crawl app," which guides you on a personal, interactive music crawl through the heart of downtown St. John's.

All events at Lawnya Vawnya will be free, but they require pre-registration. Keep an eye on the festival website for more details.
