Legendary Sonic Youth six-stringer Lee Ranaldo has unveiled a fall North American tour schedule with his backup band the Dust that will support a forthcoming, to-be-detailed LP.
Matador, who will drop the as-yet-unnamed album sometime in October, revealed the tour itinerary, which is split up in two legs in October and December. In between, the band will be making the rounds over in Europe.
Canadian shows have been set up at Toronto's Legendary Horseshoe Tavern on October 11 and at Vancouver's Biltmore Cabaret on December 7. You can see the North American schedule down below and the European dates over here.
Though details are slim on the LP so far, Matador notes that this is the first proper album from Ranaldo and the Dust, and the name change reflects a "more band-oriented approach and sound."
The band also features Sonic Youth skinsman Steve Shelley, double-bass player Tim Luntzell and experimental guitarist/composer Alan Licht. The LP follows Ranaldo's 2012 effort Between the Tides and the Times, on which Licht and Shelley also performed.
