Lemuria, the addictively poppy punk trio from Buffalo, NY, have emerged with some unexpected news. For their follow-up to 2008's Get Better, they've signed with Boston-based tough-guy hardcore label Bridge 9.
The label released the following statement [via Punknews]:
It's important for us to have a diverse roster of artists and we feel like Lemuria compliments a lot of our other bands while standing strong on their own accord. We've had Get Better in rotation in the office here for a while and after adding two hardcore bands to our roster, Mother of Mercy and Foundation, we decided to change it up a bit and sign Lemuria. I think our roster really mirrors our collective musical tastes and it's always exciting to expand on the types of music we release.
Lemuria are expected to enter the studio with producer and indie rock hero J. Robbins (Jawbox, Burning Airlines) to record the new full-length. The album does not have a title or release date yet, but it will likely be released in the fall.
