Following a whole lot of build-up, Exclaim! cover star Leon Bridges' sophomore album Good Thing is officially here. That's right, you can stream the entirety of the anticipated new record.
The record was executive produced by Ricky Reed (Maroon 5, Pitbull, Robin Thicke), with the album finding Bridges moving beyond his retro-soul comfort zone. Going far beyond the throwback soul he's known for, Bridges has tapped into the '90s R&B and trap music — not simply Motown.
"I felt I was pigeonholed," Bridges previously told Exclaim!, reflecting on his 2015 debut Coming Home. "I made that album because it was reflective of where I was at the time, but that sound doesn't all the way define me. It's one of those things where if you go too deep down that hole, you kinda become this novelty thing. I wanted to share my voice through other outfits, so it's not only a classic R&B thing."
You can now hear how that all plays out for yourself below.
Good Thing is out now via Columbia. As previously reported, Bridges has a tour coming up in support of the new album, and you can see all the dates over here.
