If you haven't yet heard, Les Savy Fav have been busy recording the follow-up to their much-loved 2007 album, Let's Stay Friends, and by the sounds of things, it should be heading our way this fall.
As the New York quintet's Syd Butler recently told the NME, the band are recording the new album at New York's Gigantic Studios with producer Chris Zane, and it's sounding heavier than their last effort.
"We're not buying atmospheric gizmos to fill out space on the songs," he said. "They're all three-and-a-half minutes long, they're more compact and concise. This record feels a lot more '90s - closer to our roots."
Front-man Tim Harrington joked, "Yeah, we're trying to get back to the time when we didn't have any fans!"
We'll bring you details of Les Savy Fav's fifth studio album as they surface. In the meantime, the band are reportedly aiming for a September release and fans in both Calgary and Toronto can check out the group at their upcoming appearances at Sled Island and NXNE, respectively.
