Less Than Jake

on Exclaim! TV Chatroom

Ska-punk icons Less Than Jake have been making music for over 20 years, a milestone many bands only dream of reaching. According to bandmates Chris DeMakes and Roger Lima, all it took was meeting the right people with the right musical aspirations and writing songs they enjoyed. That was only one part of the group's origin the two talked about in the latest instalment of Exclaim! TV's Chatroom, in which fans ask their favourite artists questions through social media.

Set up in the Exclaim! office, DeMakes and Lima fielded queries about everything from what they've been listening to lately, to who inspired them to pick up their respective instruments. We also learned about the effects fatherhood has had on the band's tour life, why drummer Vinnie Fiorello shaved his beard, and the one piece of merch they've always wanted to put out, yet never have.

Many fans were also keen to ask about the band's earlier years. One fan wrote in to ask what strange creature adorned the front of their 1996 sophomore record Losing Streak, while another wanted to know if Jay Frenzal of Frenzal Rhomb had ever paid them 500 dollars after breaking their tour bus while in Detroit.
