When it comes to losing all of their gear, Library Voices already have a bad track record. The Regina, SK-based power pop collective had all of their equipment stolen in February of last year when thieves in Vancouver broke into their trailer and made off with around $10,000 worth of musical instruments. Now, it appears that disaster has once again struck Library Voices.
Earlier today (May 6), the band tweeted, "Goodbye instruments, it's been fun," along with a link to a picture of a flooded basement. We can only assume that the band's recently purchased replacement gear is somewhere beneath the waterline.
Friends and fans of the band have already begun posting comments on the group's Facebook page, asking how they can help raise money for new equipment. For the members of Library Voices, this all must be feeling a little too familiar.
The band recently released their debut LP, Denim on Denim, and are due to hit the road for an Ontario tour in a little over a month (click here for the dates). Whether this latest catastrophe affects those plans remains to be seen.
