Lights Goes "Dark Mode" with 'dEd'

It's the chillwave counterpart to last year's 'PEP'

BY Megan LaPierrePublished Mar 10, 2023

Acclaimed Nickelback cover artist and one of your faves, the prolific Lights, has announced a companion album to last year's PEP.

While details are scarce, dEd arrives April 7 and appears to be a chillwave counterpart to the singer-songwriter's 2022 LP.

She announced the news on social media today in a post captioned, "dEd. PEP goes dark mode."

Lights shared a video clip set to "Okay Okay," which shows her holding a PEP CD while dressed in yellow to match the JUNO-nominated album artwork. The uptempo pop song then fades into a slowed, ambient-leaning chill mix of the same track, with the artist then dressed in all black and holding a dEd CD.

Check out our first taste of dEd below.
