A Lil Wayne festival set was cut short last night (October 7), as false rumours of a shooting resulted in a "crazy stampede" in which a number of fans suffered injuries.

The incident happened at A3C Festival & Conference in Atlanta. A police representative told Pitchfork that the panic began when a crowd member yelled that they heard gunshots, prompting the audience to swarm toward the exit.

Instagram user @theclosetratchet described the scene like this:

Y'all, so we are leaving the #a3c festival in #Atlanta due to a crazy stampede during #lilwayne's set! He was literally on stage for 9 minutes, ugh!! It was so crazy! A lot of people got hurt man. People got tossed in the air n'shit and trampled. Smh!

A dozen people suffered minor injuries. According to AC3, police found that there weren't actually any weapons present at the scene.
