Norwegian electronic producer Lindstrøm has shown a penchant for epic-length tracks: his last album, 2007's Where You Go I Do Too, was only three songs long but ran nearly an hour in length. This Christmas, Lindstrøm will top his previous space disco experiments with a 40-minute version of the holiday classic "Little Drummer Boy."
Pitchfork reports that the producer is currently putting the finishing touches on the tune, which will be released this December exclusively through Rough Trade (either from the store's website, Album Club or retail locations, if you're on that side of the pond). The song will be available in December as a bonus disc for Lindstrom's upcoming album with Christabelle, Real Life Is No Cool, due out here in North America on January 19, sans "Little Drummer Boy."
Just to put this in perspective, Lindstrøm's "Little Drummer Boy" will be approximately the same length as Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. Seriously, after listening to this, we're all going to have "pa-rup-a-pum-pum" stuck in our head forever.
