If youre looking for something fun to do next Friday (October 17), look no further than Vancouvers second annual Music4Change benefit concert. The event is put on by the charitable organization Oxfam Canada
and is geared towards spreading awareness and raising funds for poverty issues on both a local and global scale.
Event organizer Fleur Cooper expressed excitement about the concerts bigger size this year, stating: "We are really excited about this years show. Last year we sold out the Plaza nightclub with an amazing list of local talent. This year we are going bigger and better at Richards on Richards. It is really a chance for us to reach out in three ways; to engage the local youth in poverty issues and inspire them into positive action; to create an active and exciting fundraising event for Oxfam Canada; and to promote the Canadian independent music scene.
This years festival is headlined by Winnipeg dance rap crew Grand Analog (pictured) and supported by Los Furios, DNA6, Elias, and the Fur Bearing Animals, as well as a slew of guest speakers. The event takes place on October 17, which happens to be the United Nations day for the Eradication of Poverty.
