Linea 77

Ketchup Suicide

BY Amber AuthierPublished Dec 1, 2001

Linea 77, from all appearances, has been a force on the European scene for a while now. Ketchup Suicide is the Italian band's second record. The band expertly incorporates surreal, even angelic female vocals on a couple of songs on this otherwise hard-edged disc. All the original material shows the great potential of the band (although the cover of "Walk Like An Egyptian" forces them into the "bands that really didn't need to cover some bad '80s tune" club for me). The dual vocals are under-utilised in several songs, with vocalists Nitto and Emo sounding identical in their screams. Although I am not a huge fan of multimedia components on CDs, there is a bonus with a neat game on this disc that lets you "interact" with the band.
