Little Destroyer

"Rattlesnakes" (video)

Vancouver three-piece Little Destroyer have been honing their synth-infused alt-pop aesthetic between home and Los Angeles, and they're finally ready to debut a new track.

"Rattlesnakes" will appear on the band's upcoming first EP Strange Future, and Exclaim! is giving you an exclusive first listen to the album cut via a new video. Blending dark synths, pulsating beats and powerful vocals, the song is an exciting, dramatic introduction to the band's heavy-hitting sound.

"'Rattlesnakes' is the overwhelming realization that the party doesn't believe in you, that the fantasy of your pop and youth culture gives you nothing. That you've plundered and devoured everything in your path, but you're still hungry, because it's all without substance," the band tell Exclaim! "It's about the nights you become a mutant, and the mornings after. And it parallels the empty, dank & depressing vibe of a club, after last call, when the house lights turn on, to when the veil of fantasy lifts and you see it all for what is is; a monstrous feedback loop set to empty. Growing pains, growing into disillusionment."

The track has been paired with an accompanying video that's set in a starkly empty theatre, though some of the space gets filled with some cleverly integrated lyrics.

Check out the video for "Rattlesnakes" below, and be sure to catch the band live at their next show. They'll play Studio Vostok in Vancouver on February 3.
