Lizzo was scheduled to play a show at Montreal's Bell Centre last night (May 4) as the lone Canadian date on her North American tour. Evenko, the promotion company associated with the event, announced less than an hour before doors were set to open that the concert was postponed on "doctor's orders."

The Grammy-winning pop singer took to Instagram to address concertgoers. "I had a sore throat last night, and a headache," she explained through a medical mask. "I woke up this morning and it was worse, and my body's weak, and I have chills, and my head hurts."

She went on to clarify that she thinks she has the flu, and that if it were a common cold she would've performed through the illness.

Evenko and Lizzo both promised fans that their tickets will be honoured at the rescheduled show, which does not yet have a confirmed date.

Lizzo's next performance is scheduled for tomorrow (May 6) in Hartford, CT, which has yet to be postponed or cancelled.

Montreal ticketholders took to Twitter to wish Lizzo well.
