Los Campesinos! Publish Magazine

Cardiff’s hyper kids of the lo-fi, Los Campesinos! have announced plans to print and distribute their own magazine on their upcoming UK tour. To help them compile the 24-page zine, the band have asked a bunch of their favourite bands for help, including Times New Viking, Deerhoof, Final Fantasy, Parenthetical Girls, Gary Jarman (the Cribs), Gruff Rhys (Super Furry Animals), Kieron Gillen, You Say Party! We Say Die! and Josie Long.

"As I type I am sat next to a photocopier printing as many copies as time allows,” said an unidentified member about the project. "I just had to change the toner and got soot all over my hands. Yuck. PRINT JAM OMG!”

The band will be asking for charitable donations in exchange for a copy of the publication. "I say 'give away' but we will actually be asking for small donations towards a Rheumatoid Arthritis charity to discourage people from taking loads of copies and putting them on the floor and pouring beer on them and stuff.”

Los Campesinos! release their full-length debut album, Hold On Now, Youngster…, in the UK on February 25, digitally on February 26 and on CD and LP through Arts & Crafts on April 1. The album’s first single, "Death to Los Campesinos!” will come out a week before the UK release on February 18.
