Low Budgets

Aim Low, Get High

BY Rob NayPublished Apr 1, 2005

Featuring ex-Dead Milkmen Joe Jack Talcum, the Low Budgets play music designed for a frat house full of computer programmers. Aim Low, Get High features a strong collection of memorable nerd rock tunes. Claiming Devo and the Descendents as influences, the band does an excellent job of blending keyboard-driven new wave with upbeat punk rock, sounding a little like the Cars after a few too many pep pills and gin and tonics. With an emphasis on amusing lyrics, the Low Budgets create light-hearted, buoyant music, picking up where the Dead Milkmen left off.
