Back when Lowell announced that she had signed to Arts & Crafts to issue the I Killed Sara V. EP, the solo artist also teased the possibility of dropping an LP in 2014. True to her word, the album arrives this fall as We Loved Her Dearly.
A press release confirms that the collection hits retailers September 16 through Arts & Crafts, with the label noting the synth-injected outing blends "deliriously catchy melodies and feminist punk gender politics." All five cuts from the I Killed Sara V. EP appear on the new full-length, while the rest of the record adds songs that focus on themes such as "sexual abuse, rape, abortion, and women's rights."
Percussive pop punch-up "I Love You Money," which you can stream down below, is described as a "feminist manifesto" ("You live in a man's world, I live in my own world"), while "LGBT" addresses society's lack of LGBTQ rights. Throughout the set, these political themes are said to be balanced with melodies that are "accessible, optimistic and fun."
You'll also find the tracklisting and a recently delivered video for previously released number "88" down below.
