In a week that has already seen Slayer and Elton John announce farewell tours, Southern rockers Lynyrd Skynyrd have now mapped out one final run of their own.
The "Last of the Street Survivors" tour will keep the group on the road from May to September for a total of 30 dates. Special guests on the run include Kid Rock, Hank Williams Jr., Charlie Daniels Band, Bad Company, Marshall Tucker Band, 38 Special, Blackberry Smoke, and Blackfoot. The lone Canadian date will take place in Toronto on August 11.
"It's hard to imagine, after all these years, the band that Ronnie Van Zant, Allen Collins and myself started back in Jacksonville, would resonate for this long and to so many generations of fans. I'm certain they are looking down from above, amazed that the music has touched so many," founding member Gary Rossington said in a statement.
Lynyrd Skynyrd were founded as My Backyard in 1964 in Jacksonville, FL, adopting their current name in 1969. At the height of their fame, band members Ronnie Van Zant, Steve Gaines and Cassie Gaines died in an airplane crash in 1977. The band reunited a decade later.
Tickets for all dates go on sale February 2, with further information available through the band's official website. Find a complete tour itinerary below.
