M83 Albums Finally Get Vinyl Release

BY Brock ThiessenPublished Oct 29, 2008

If you’ve been waiting to get a hold of M83’s catalogue on wax, the brass over at Mute has good news: the label is set to release the band’s five full-lengths on vinyl this fall.

On November 25, Mute will repress — or in some cases press for the first time — the group’s entire back catalogue: their self-titled debut (2001), Dead Cities, Red Seas & Lost Ghosts (2003), Before the Dawn Heals Us (2005) and this year’s exceptional John Hughes homage, Saturdays=Youth. Also, the label will be giving 2007’s Digital Shades some much-deserved vinyl treatment, which in North America has thus far remained a download-only affair.

Sweeting the deal, each vinyl release will come with a bonus CD version of the respective album and, with the exception of Digital Shades, be on double vinyl.

As previously reported, M83’s Anthony Gonzalez and co. are gearing up to do another live sweep of North America with School of Seven Bells, who will be supporting their recently released, and reviewed, debut Alpinisms.
