SXSW is returning to Austin for its 30th year from March 11 to 20. Along with having lined up some notable keynote speakers for this year's festival, M for Montreal has ensured that a great deal of Canadian talent will be display during the nine days.
Partnering with the Canadian Independent Music Association (CIMA) and Exclaim!, M for Montreal will put the spotlight on over a dozen artists at two different showcases. The first evening is co-presented with Canadian Blast on March 16 and will bring together some of the best in underground Canadian hip-hop, including Wasiu, Wordburglar, SHI, Humble Giants, Lucas DiPasquale, Horsepowar, the Posterz and the Lytics.
Teaming up with Exclaim!, a second showcase loaded with some of the best bands Montreal has to offer will take place on March 19, including DOOMSQUAD, Michael Rault, Milk & Bone, Look Vibrant, Motel Raphaël, Chocolat and the Posterz. A Poutine Party in conjunction with Pop Montreal will open up the Saturday evening with music from Saxsyndrum, truly authenticating the Quebec live music experience.
