Former flames Diplo and M.I.A. have a feud that goes back years, as the EDM producer went so far as to publicly call the singer's album ΛΛ Λ Y Λ a "turd" in 2010. They were warring on Twitter as recently as last year, but now it seems that they've finally finally smoothed things over, since they've announced that they have a collaborative single coming out next week.

The new track is called "Bird Song," and M.I.A. announced it today (August 1) when she tweeted out the artwork for the single (above). As you can see from the image, it's due out next Friday (August 12).

It seems there will also be a version produced by returning collaborator Blaqstarr, whose name features on another version of the artwork. Presumably, "Bird Song" will appear on the forthcoming album A.I.M., due out on September 9. M.I.A. previously shared the Skrillex-featuring single "Go Off." Watch the video for that cut below, and stay tuned for "Bird Song."

Diplo and M.I.A. have collaborated extensively in the past. The two worked together on some well-known songs, including the iconic single "Paper Planes."
