Superchunk vet Mac McCaughan has an album called Non-Believers due out on May 5 through Merge, and in the meantime he has shared another of his new tracks: "Box Batteries."
This rocking power-pop song is coming out on a 7-inch tomorrow (April 7), and it's a little different from the album version in that it features a prominent Farfisa electric organ. And while the LP take has some live drumming, this is all drum machines.
In a statement, McCaughan said, "An ode to making sure you have the power to listen to your homemade cassettes in even the most remote locations, 'Box Batteries' is perhaps the most rocking song from Non-Believers and captures of the spirit of the album."
The single comes backed with the non-LP track "Whatever Light."
