Machinedrum

"Angel Speak" (ft. MeLo-X)

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Jul 12, 2016

It's been a while since we received a heaping dose of Machinedrum (a.k.a. Travis Stewart), but the producer is apparently in the midst of prepping a follow-up to his 2013 full-length, Vapor City. Before the fumes hit us in full, he's leaked out a new piece titled "Angel Speak."

The new tune follows recent single "Dos Puertas" and finds Machinedrum working with various twisty vocal samples, summer-day synth melodies and an arsenal of futuristic dancehall beats. A collaboration with Brooklyn producer MeLo-X (Beyoncé, Jesse Boykins), it also slaps down steel-heavy snare work and busts out a big digi-brass section after a drop.

You can hear the latest Machinedrum track below, as well as peep some newly announced North American dates. A press release notes that "a bigger project" is on the horizon, with more news forthcoming.
