After releasing Beautiful Death Machine in March with his platinum-selling rap group Swollen Members, it seemed that Vancouver-based emcee Madchild would be putting his solo career on hold. That assumption turned out to be false when he announced Lawn Mower Man, due August 6 on Battleaxe Records. We're already streaming the album, and we also have a video of Madchild performing one of the new tracks in our office.
Madchild brought his trademark style and verve to perform "It Gets Better," featuring DJ Dow Jones on the turntables. The performance features introspective lyrics about Madchild's yearning to be a better person, and some shout outs to various Canadian music personnel.
Watch the performance below. After a few dates in the US, Madchild will be returning to the Great White North for an extensive cross-Canadian tour in mid-August, followed by a fall tour of the US. Check out the full list of dates here.
