Listening to Warm Waters, the aptly titled debut full-length from down-tempo duo Adam Perry and Duncan Christie, one would swear they hail from Nice rather than Niagara Falls. Opener "Warming does precisely that, dipping the listeners toes in a gentle bath of analog synths, rolling bass, and slinky psychedelic guitars. For a change, Madrid drop their up-tempo track the nu-jazzy "Tierra del Fuego early on, only to immediately drift into outer space with the spacious, Air-esque "Stereostar. Unlike that French band, however, Madrid eschew traditional song structures in favour of free jazz-influenced mind expansion. Its time to get your feet wet.
