This summer, we reported that indie pop veterans the Magnetic Fields had returned to their former home Merge Records. Now, the label has announced that it will be pressing the group's 1994 classic Holiday on vinyl.
The album was originally released via Feel Good All Over and then reissued on CD by Merge in 1999. This latest reissue marks the album's long-awaited first vinyl pressing.
Holiday has been remastered for vinyl by Jeff Lipton (who has done mastering for Bon Iver, Superchunk, Spoon and many more). The reissue will be available on October 24, and you can pre-order it right now from Merge's official webstore.
Even better, fans can pre-order Holiday as part of a four-album vinyl bundle that also includes previous reissues Charm of the Highway Strip (1994) and Get Lost (1995), along with Stephin Merritt's recent Obscurities collection.
