Mac Miller passed away last year. And while the rapper's life and legacy continues to be celebrated, his untimely death is also a pressing concern. Now, police have arrested and charged a man in connection with his death.
The Los Angeles Police Department has arrested Cameron James Pettit, a 28-year-old Hollywood Hills resident, and charged him with one federal count of distribution of a controller substance.
According to the official criminal complaint [via Pitchfork], "Pettit delivered counterfeit oxycodone pills that contained fentanyl — a dangerous synthetic opioid — cocaine, and Xanax to [Mac Miller]."
Pettit also allegedly told friends that he "would die in jail" following Miller's death, asking another if he should share text messages he had exchanged with the late rapper.
If convicted, Pettit could face up to 20 years in a federal prison.
