Electronic music haven MUTEK returns this year for its 16th instalment, running from May 27 to June 1, and to get you back in the spirit, the Montreal fest has shared a recording of Marie Davidson's set from 2014.
The performance took place at PLAY on May 30 and showcases the hometown musician's dark, brooding and poetic brand of techno. There's a cinematic feel to the sweeping soundscapes, thanks in part to Davidson's interspersed spoken-word vocals and the use of string instruments, in addition to synthesizers and sequencers.
While the lineup for this year's event has yet to be released, festival passports and weekend passes are already available. Full festival passports will run you $150, while weekend passes are available for $85. Prices will go up on February 17, which is when the lineup will be unveiled. Full ticketing information can be found here.
But before you grab your 2015 passes, relive the magic of Marie Davidson's set from last year, in the player below. The recording was mastered by Montreal company LANDR.
