One wonders why Manson would stick a new song at the end of this otherwise spectacular live album. There is nothing wrong with the industrial frenzy of “Astonishing Panorama of the Endtimes,” it’s just out place when compared to the 13 thundering, awe inspiring live songs. It’s a cheap and unneeded marketing ploy. For the longest time Marilyn, Twiggy Ramirez, M.W. Gacy and Ginger Fish came off as a third rate Alice Cooper act. Now, the band have captured the anger from their fans and turned it into beautiful hate performance art, and surprisingly enough this comes through on The Last Tour on Earth. He encourages his flock to shout loud enough for the protesters who are demonstrating out front and the 100 cops who “are just waiting to arrest any one of us.” The set list is almost perfect, giving the album an added boost by acting as a greatest hits package.
