As previously reported, Mark Kozelek is all set to bring us a few more of his favourite songs on his upcoming covers album, which is conveniently called Mark Kozelek Sings Favorites. Before the album arrives in full next month, he's streaming a duet of '60s pop standard "Something Stupid" with actor Minnie Driver.
A stripped down and intimate take, it meshes Kozelek's barrel-aged baritone quite finely with Driver's shushed softness. Beneath this is an elegantly fingered piano. If you have time to spend an evening with Kozelek and Driver's lovely duet, and maybe have a drink or two, you can stream the piece over here.
The rest of Mark Kozelek Sings Favorites, which also features reworked pieces from David Bowie and Modest Mouse, arrives May 27 through Caldo Verde Records.
