Mickey Madden, bassist for the pop rock group Maroon 5, has been arrested on a felony domestic abuse charge. The performer is currently out on bail.
According to various reports, Madden was arrested Saturday (June 28) on intimate partner violence charges in Los Angeles. He has since been released on $50,000 USD bail.
Police confirmed to Pitchfork that Madden was arrested under California's 273.5(a) penal code, which cites anyone who injures a spouse or cohabitant and leaves them "in a traumatic condition."
In a statement released to Page Six, Maroon 5 said, "We are deeply devastated by this disappointing news. As we learn more, we are looking at this very seriously. For now, we are allowing all of the individuals involved the space to work things through."
