Marvelous Darlings Prepare LP, Japanese Singles

Toronto's Marvelous Darlings play energetic power pop similar to the Exploding Hearts and Deranged label-mates the Tranzmitors. The band, fronted by former No Warning front-man and current Fucked Up guitarist Ben Cook, have pulled a lot of heat from the quality of their debut seven-inch, I Don't Wanna Go To The Party, and subsequent releases.

In a recent post on their MySpace blog, the band revealed that they were writing songs for an LP. Not even two weeks later, the band have announced they've already laid down 12 tracks from their practice space and are awaiting Ben's return from a Fucked Up tour to finish the vocals. They mention that they plan to release more singles of songs they've already completed for the time being. They also list some hilarious ideas for the album title, including Songs In The Key of Punk, Under Thirty Minutes, Money In The Bank and a few others, but go on to admit that "it will most likely be called Marvelous Darlings or Led Zeppelin 5." Those guys!

In the mean time, the band are compiling their three singles on a CD, complete with a live set, for Tokyo's Base Records, so you can keep your eyes peeled for that.
