In news that's bound to excite many, buzz-worthy dubstep producer Burial is planning to release a remix compilation of tracks by pioneering trip-hop duo Massive Attack.
In a recent interview with Clash [via FACT Magazine], Massive Attack's Daddy G compared the project to 1995's No Protection, a remix of the group's Protection album by Mad Professor. What exactly the new album will be made up of is unclear but Daddy G stated that "Burial essentially remixes quite a lot of the new tracks. Brings out a different version of quite a lot of the tracks that we've done.
"We've been listening to a lot of the stuff that he does and he's just amazing. The way he does his layers, his drums and stuff like that. The dubstep thing is amazing, there's a lot of really good people there - Kode9 is great as well. These kids are just amazing and we want to be part of that."
The release date is even more ambiguous, as the article reveals that the project has "no timeframe."

The four-track collection features high-profile cameos from TV on the Radio's Tunde Adebimpe, Elbow's Guy Garvey and Tricky collaborator Martina Topley-Bird. The group's long-awaited fifth album is expected to be released sometime in 2010.
