Matt Mays and Sonic Concerts have enlisted the Sheepdogs and Kathleen Edwards for a doubleheader at Hubbards, NS's Shore Club, which he's dubbed the Sundown Salut.

Running August 22 and 23, the 19-plus event will mark Mays's 20th year performing at the venue, which itself has been hosting live music (and lobster dinners) for 80 years.

Mays shared in a release:

Well, folks, we decided to go big this year — 20 years of us wildly celebrating the end of summer together at the Shore Club. Thinking about it all as I write this, brings a heavy but happy feeling to my heart: a mix of gratitude, sentiment, some melancholy, and even a dash of curiosity. I can't help but to ask myself: did all that really happen? To the devoted gang who have ventured out to dance and sing their faces off every year, we wanted to give you something special as a thank-you, for carving such a strong Nova Scotian tradition into stone. The mighty Sheepdogs caught wind of this and offered to join in right away. Then Kathleen caught wind and signed on not long after. Both of these incredible artists have been my companions on cold highways for the past two decades, and I consider them family. This August, these world-class gunslingers are coming to Hubbards to help us take this thing straight to the stars. We want this to be the best celebration in the history of summers, and with your help, I'm pretty sure we can make that happen:) I look forward to singing our faces off together like always but this time under the stars.

Tickets start at $93.63 inclusive and go on sale this Friday, January 31. The Mental Health Foundation of Nova Scotia will receive $1 from every ticket sold. Get yours here
