Having gone hi-fi with 2010's Sidewalks, ultra-cute piano-punk pair Matt & Kim are preparing to return with a new single, as well as their fourth full-length.
The album is called Lightning, and it will be out this fall. We currently don't know much more than that, but we may learn more this coming Monday (June 25) when the band release the lead single "Let's Go."
You can see a brief 22-second trailer for the single below, in which singer/keyboardist Matt Johnson sinks a sweet shot from the centre line of a basketball court. How many tries did it take to get that shot? Judging by the brief snippet of music, the single appears to showcase Matt & Kim in fine form, with sugary vocal hooks and sunny, major-key piano chords.
