Canadian hard rockers Max Webster still get regular spins on rock radio stations across the country, but for listeners looking to enjoy their tunes, a new career-spanning box set from the band will surely do the trick.
Retail listings show that an eight-disc box set titled The Party will arrive on September 29 through Ole. Both CD and vinyl editions will feature "newly remastered albums, exclusive unreleased studio and live songs, the long-out of print Kim Mitchell self-titled EP and a comprehensive booklet packed with rare photos and memorabilia."
Alongside the 32-page book, the vinyl edition sports a poster, a Universal Juveniles fan club ID card and an introductory foreword by Q107 radio host John Derringer. The collection of unreleased studio and live tracks was mixed by Terry Brown and Greg Wells.
"The remastered records beautifully present more musical detail for your ears to chew on, as well we unearthed and mixed never heard before songs. You'll hear different musical approaches/arrangements as we worked it out in the studio and live," frontman Kim Mitchell said in a statement. "We've included the warm sound of quality vinyl in the package. I kept thinking 'where has some of this been for all these years', we carefully picked moments for the box set where the band proved it was definitely strapped to a foreign rock'n'roll."
