In addition to the standard version of Maximo Park's upcoming Too Much Information LP, the UK post-punkers will be issuing a deluxe version featuring a few covers. One such number is a redo of Leonard Cohen's "Lover, Lover, Lover," and you can stream the dancey interpretation a few months ahead of time.
Maximo Park's cover gels around a different sort of beat than the salsa/funk rhythms of the original, instead running hard with a more straight-forward rock pulse and the kinds of spritely keyboard twinkling and wiry post-punk guitars we've come to expect from the group. You can check it out down below.
Also included on Too Much Information's bonus disc will be covers of the Fall, Townes Van Zandt, Nick Drake and Mazzy Star. Both versions of the LP will be delivered February 3 via the band's own Daylighting Records, Co-op and PIAS.
