In 2010, Toronto's Maylee Todd won our interest with her eclectic debut Choose Your Own Adventure. Now, she has offered a taste of what's to come in the form of the new single "Hieroglyphics," which she's giving away as a free download.
According to the description accompanying the single on Bandcamp, the new track is a "classic disco-funk boogie, guitar- and synth-driven with infectiously soulful vocals -- an homage to the classic club sounds from the '70s and '80s that's sure to have you headed straight for the dance floor."
That sounds like an apt description to us.
The Bandcamp blurb aslo adds that the songstress is currently "hard at work on her European tour, writing and recording for her upcoming album."
For now, grab the track below and pick up a copy on seven-inch vinyl in January via Do Right! Music. Pre-orders will start on December 15 from Bandcamp.
