One man band and Hamilton mayoral candidate C.A. Smith (aka Mayor McCA) will be supporting his second album Me Is He with shows across Canada in August and September.
Current fixations:
Roald Dahl.
Mind-altering work of art:
Anything by Ralph Steadman.
Most memorable or inspirational gig:
The Dinner Is Ruined @ Canadian Music Week 1999 & 2001.
What has been your career high and low?
Accepting the Juno for "Best Album Ever" (how could you ever forget that). Playing in Halifax for one person (the bartender, and even he left to "fix something").
What should everyone shut up about?
Tie Domi's elbow on Scott Niedermeyer during this year's NHL playoffs. Tie still rocks!
I would drop everything to play a benefit for:
Funding for arts in public schools. Who knows where I would be if I didn't have that stuff to participate in in school. Way to be Mike Harris!
What trait do you like and dislike most about yourself?
I'm very trusting. It gets me into trouble sometimes.
What would make you kick someone out of your band and/or bed, and have you?
Littering. And no I have not.
When I think of Canada I think:
Big, long, beautiful.
What is your vital daily ritual?
Flossing.
How do you spoil yourself?
Staying outside of the fridge too long.
What was your most memorable day job?
Playing the part of "The Clumsy Waiter" for a safety convention for steel workers. The role hit pretty close to home.
If I wasn't playing music I would be:
A crack whore. What a great job!
What is your greatest fear?
Danny Tannor, Kimmy Gibbler or anyone else from Full House.
If you had a superpower, what would it be?
Communicating with cookies.
What makes you want to take it off and get it on?
Smurfs, and I have, many times in my teenage years.
Music and sex: Is there a difference? Why?
No, I'm terrible at both.
Strangest brush with celebrity:
Taking a pee next to Robbie Robertson.
Who would be your ideal dinner guest, living or dead, and what would you serve them?
Princess Leah, we'd have Pogos, my speciality.
What does your mom wish you were doing instead?
Anything that keeps me from saying, "Mom, I lost everything on my tour. I have no place to live, can I stay with you?"
