Metallica have officially been Kate Bush-ified: thanks to the explosive season finale of Stranger Things 4, the title track of the band's third studio album, Master of Puppets, has charted on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for the first time since its release in 1986.
Currently sitting at No. 40 on the chart, the 36-year-old song is performed in the Netflix series by rock devotee Eddie Munson (Joseph Quinn) in the Upside Down's "most metal concert ever."
Earlier this month, Tye Trujillo — the 17-year-old son of the band's bassist, Robert Trujillo — was revealed to have played guitar on the recording included on the show. The band thanked the Duffer Brothers for the inclusion of the mega-hit in an Instagram post, citing the scene as a pivotal moment in the show and saying they were "blown away" by it.
Considered by many metalheads as Metallica's finest, the album — which still continued to sell thousands of copies weekly in the US, according to Nielsen SoundScan data [via BLABBERMOUTH] — is also being brought to new life on Spotify's Global Top 50 chart, where it sits at No. 22. Master of Puppets was the band's first release after signing with major label Elektra Records.
