Method Man

"The Purple Tape" (ft. Raekwon, Inspectah Deck)

Though Method Man has cooked up a bunch of new tunes for his Meth Lab LP, the Wu-Tang vet is also using the record to shout-out the rest of his Shaolin brethren. The record's "The Purple Tape," for instance, references the storied violet-plastic cassette version of Raekwon's Only Built 4 Cuban Linx, and you can hear Meff wax nostalgic about it right now.

While Rae's album was more about hustlers running one last coke deal, Method Man's new tune has him rifling off a mean-muggin' verse calling out a bunch of mollycoddled foes. Also joining the veteran rap artist on the track are Inspectah Deck and Raekwon. Actually, there are two Raekwons on here, with the other being Method Man's son.

You can check out the track below, while The Meth Lab opens August 21, via Hanz on Music/Tommy Boy Entertainment.
