After teasing new single "All Comes Crashing" last week, Toronto indie champs Metric have come through to deliver it today — complete with a music video, album announcement and North American tour.

Reportedly named after an island in Spain, the band's eighth studio album Formentera is due July 8 via MMI. It follows 2018's Art of Doubt, and Metric will take the new material on the road with the Doomscroller Tour, which begins with a Canadian leg in August.

They'll be joined by Dear Rouge for shows in Victoria, Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Regina, Saskatoon, Winnipeg, London, Ottawa, Montreal, Quebec City and Halifax; with Interpol, Spoon and Bartees Strange on the bill at a previously announced hometown stop at Toronto's Budweiser Stage. The tour continues on stateside through September and October, ending with a double-header at Brooklyn Steel on October 26 and 27.

"We're crafting a set list based on fan favorites including deep cuts from Live It Out and Old World, and it's been wild to see how the new songs from Formentera flow with the classics from Fantasies and Synthetica," bandleader Emily Haines said in a release. "I want Metric fans to have the best concert experience possible and feel like they got to escape into another reality with us for the evening."

Of the propulsive new single, she added:

Not everyone has a conventional life with conventional relationships. "All Comes Crashing" is a love song that goes beyond romantic love: it's an expression of solidarity with whoever it is you would want to have beside you in the event of catastrophe. It might be your best friend, it might be your blood brother or your dog. The song is dedicated to those you consider your family, whatever that looks like for you.

Watch the video for "All Comes Crashing" below, where you'll also find the band's tour itinerary. Tickets go on sale Friday (May 6) at 10 a.m. local time via Metric's website.
